Notes on Uninterruptible Power Supply Conversion and New ground wiring:

The new ground scheme is now completely in place. It involved connecting the two slip rings (5 and 6) together both at the slip ring side and on the pickup shoe side. A visual inspection of the pick up shoes showed them to be in excellent condition.

UPS conversion final test:

When transferred UPS1 had a hold time of about 90 minutes initially which then slowly decreased with lapakahi, nexes, ncd, laserwriter, vt220, alpha monitor, vax monitor, cetia monitor, and ant monitor all turned off. Current draw about 10 amp.

UPS2 had hold time of 73 min with nothing powered down in the AOS room. The hold time had diminshed to about 48 minutes by the end of the test (approx. 1/2 hour). The current draw is about 13 amp.

UPS3 had a hold time of 75min with only the spectrum analyzer off in the sidecab. The hold time had diminished to about 55 minutes by the end of the test (approx. 1/2 hour). The current draw is about 13 amp.

Emergency lights in the control room, and UPS room died quickly and in the UPS room the light is now in the wrong place. We probably need to get another light for the side of the room with the UPSs. I don?t think we should move the old one because it is needed to see the breaker panels and transfer switches. We also need to get at least 2 new batteries for the lights that failed within the first few seconds.
