Surface correction has always been desired and often talked about, since the late 1980s when the CSO was being built.
This is a plot of the RMS Surface Deviation done by Dave Woody & co.
From this plot, it shows that at 30° ZA, 10 µm RMS is the best RMS surface deviation.
