The Caltech Submillimeter Observatory is operated by the California Institute of Technology.

• Please include the following statement in any publication based on observations or other work at the CSO:
  “This material is based upon work at the Caltech Submillimeter Observatory, which is operated by the California Institute of Technology.”

Until 2013 March 31, the CSO was operated by Caltech under cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation (AST-0838261).

As stated in the NSF Award and Administration Guide, the NSF has specific requirements for acknowledgment of support. These requirements are incumbent on all observers. To satisfy these requirements:

• Include the following statement in any publication (including Web pages) of any material based on observations or other work at the CSO:
  “This material is based upon work at the Caltech Submillimeter Observatory, which was operated by the California Institute of Technology under cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation (AST-0838261).”

• Orally acknowledge NSF support during all news media interviews, including popular media such as radio, television and news magazines.

• Include the following disclaimer in every publication (including Web pages) of material based on observations or other work at the CSO, except scientific articles or papers appearing in scientific, technical or professional journals:
  “Any opinions, findings, and conclusions or recommendations expressed in this material are those of the author(s)and do not necessarily reflect the views of the National Science Foundation.”
