Walter R. Steiger, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus of Physics and
Astronomy at the University of Hawaii. He also served as
Director of the Bishop Museum Planetarium and Science Center
after George Bunton's retirement from that position, and subsequently, as Manager
of the Caltech Submillimeter Observatory on Mauna Kea.
